gardening

(house)plants that I'm curently taking care of:

• lots of succulents(jade, echeveria, ...)
• green onions (they grow so fast, I love them!!)
• some spider plants
• a sweet pea
• a venus flytrap!

plants that I'd like to grow:

• lavender
• chamomile
• tomatoes
• potatoes
• basil
• rosemary
• carrots
• peas
• broccoli
• cauliflower
• sweet potatoes

notes from my first spring with the community garden

• our soil needs more nitrogen. that fish emulsion stuff they got really helped.
• the soybeans did fantastic until they all got eaten (bunnies, I think). not sure how to prevent this.
• the golden cherry tomatoes did well!
• the swiss chard did not do as well.
• the random radish seeds they used to help break up the soil in the fall sprouted like crazy. maybe we can try to grow them intentionally next time?
• sunflowers grew really well too, even though we didn't plant them intentionally. (thank you, birds!)
