Yesterday, mio spoke about the upcoming zine. Which led me down a rabit-hole of zines, from the first one I read, to some really nice ones I will be reading this weekend.
The old days
For me, zines started with Hack-Tic - Wikipedia, a Dutch Hacker magazine that I found infinitely fascinating. My first issue was:

The intro was:
Hack Tic is een nieuw maandblad voor hackers. Het bevat alle truuks en tips die andere bladen niet hebben. Nieuws over Computer-Hacking, PhoneThreaking of andere vormen van techno-anarchisme vindt je altijd eerst in Hack Tic.
Translation: Hack Tic is a new monthly magazine for hackers. It contains all the tricks and tips you will not find in other magazines. News about Computer-Hacking, PhonePhreaking or other forms of techno-anarchism you’ll always find first in Hack Tic.
