Sometimes, December is a rush of activity to get things done before the new year. This card reminds me that it's important to slow down. The year is coming to a close and it's time to start winding down. Winter is a period of rest, and this card depicts that beautifully.
This December is about finding ways to stay grounded. It's about reflection and finding connection. It's a time to look towards nature as colder weather settles in. There's no time better than now to connect with the earth and listen to the lessons it brings us.
The Guardian of Pentacles also asks how we can be of service. What skills do we have? How can we contribute? How can we give back and protect the people and planet we love?

November is about managing resources: the give and take and balancing act of life. Sometimes you have to choose. As much as we wish that we could put our whole self into everything that we do, no one has the time or energy for that. Priorities need to be set. Choices have an impact in the world, so it's important to make them wisely.
This month has me thinking about my priorities. What am I putting energy into? How am I spending my time? I don't want to fall into the trap of trying to optimize every single thing I do, but I want to be mindful of what I do in order to decide if that's what best serves my goals.
