DAOKO - 同じ夜
~sacredpixel
DAOKO's one of my faves, a Japanese singer/songwriter that seems to dabble in different styles with almost every album. This one's an absolute chillfest.
Basement - Pine
~puldo
a song that makes me feel a lot of things. this entire album is really good, i hope you like it too <3
Steam Powered Giraffe - Out In The Rain
~desvox
<3
The Growlers - Going gets tough
~selsky
I found this song last week and it's been on near constant repeat. Just so catchy.
BADBADNOTGOOD - Song of Storms
~desvox
A very raw sounding piano track a friend sent me. Very calming, with an interesting change of style half way through.
Bo Burnham - what. (Full Show)
~minerobber
This is the full show of "what." by Bo Burnham. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejc5zic4q2A
American Trappist - Fireworks
~selsky
I was at American Trappist's first show. He was a member of my favorite local band and I wanted to support his new stuff. When he played this song I knew that I was going to be just as enthusiastic about AmTrappe as I am about his old stuff.
PrototypeRaptor - F#
~desvox
An oddly charming dubsteppish (I think? Electonic genres are hard) track, with heavy, deep drops and and a smooth intro.
Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith - First Flight
~zach
I just heard this song, off the album EARS, for the first time yesterday and it blows me away. Laser Enya at the planetarium.
The Amazing World Of Gumball - Nobody's a Nobody
~minerobber
This song feels right for an environment like tilde.town.
C418 - Cliffside Hinson
~desvox
Climbing, climbing, climbing...a rising feeling that always ends too soon. Love it.
Hiroko Moriguchi - From an Aqueous Star, With Love
~meguriai
don't cry anymore, because now there's a person looking for you, dying to see you
M83 - For the Kids
~desvox
This is a sort of cheesy, lubby-dubby balad. Calming, at least!
Ayumi Miyazaki - Brave Heart (tri. version)
~zeether
Digimon has been a favorite series of mine since it was airing back in the day. When they announced Adventure Tri, I was ecstatic and waited patiently for a US release, then as soon as they announced a theater screening for the dub I immediately knew I had to attend. I felt like a kid again, except the addition of the original Japanese music, which I never had heard before (RIP Koji Wada) made it even more amazing. The rearrangement of Brave Heart in the movies is nothing short of fantastic.
Tears For Fears - Everybody Wants To Rule The World (12" mix)
~zeether
Sometimes I remember this song because being an adult is hard. Finding a job is hard. Welcome to your life, there's no turning back.
Talk Talk - It's My Life
~zeether
I first heard the cover by Gwen Stefani, then the original via Saint's Row 3. Original is better, of course. How much do you commit yourself?
The Killers - Human
~zeether
"Are we human, or are we dancer?" Not sure what the answer to this is, but the beat is great.
Pet Shop Boys - Always On My Mind
~zeether
The first song I ever listened to by PSB and still one of my favourites. Very odd music video for it, though.
Jim Lang - Groove Remote
~zeether
Hey Arnold is one of my favorite Nickelodeon shows and Jim Lang does a fantastic job on every track. This is a staple piece, and even has an orchestral version in the movie.
Christopher Jackson, Daveed Diggs, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Okieriete Onaodowan - Cabinet Battle #1
~caff
I've been engrossed with musicals lately, and Hamilton's been creeping to the top of my list quite steadily. Every time I hear something from it, whether it be an actual song from it, or Lin-Manuel Miranda singing about Puerto Rico on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, it just reminds me how awesome it is.
Machinae Supremacy - Rise of a Digital Nation
~sanqui
Though far apart, united by heart.
Galantis - No Money
~caff
This song got really big, but it always makes me smile a bit.
Sy Oliver - Opus No. 1
~krowbar
This song was composed in 1943 and is the default hold music used by Cisco phones. This American Life featured it in one of their shows and, while many people can recognize it, few people can identify it.
Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way
~krowbar
No story given.
Tycho - A Walk
~tahnok
Whenever I need to chill this is what I put on... getting goosebumps just thinking about it
Smooth McGroove - Street Fighter 2 - Guile Theme Acapella
~krowbar
No story given.
Have Luck Good Fun - Witch Doctor Sings a Song
~krowbar
No story given.
Chumbawamba - Tubthumping
~krowbar

Daisuke Amaya - Cave Story (Plantation / Main Theme)

asmz - blindblindblind
~jumblesale
i cry every time i hear this
Star Salzman & Protricity - Dreams Come True (Mega Man X remix)
~krowbar
No story given.
SGX - soulsight
~krowbar
I've been a big fan of SGX ever since I found his work on OCRemix.org In addition to video game remixes, he's done a number of amazing original songs in addition to letting people remix some of his own tracks!
Tear For Fears - Mad World
~krowbar
No story given.
C418 - Lack of Creativity is Dangerous in Berlin
~desvox
This is an instrumental, short but sweet little tune to the sound of a public place. Very warm.
Steve Burns - Maintain
~caff
Did any of you watch Blue's Clues? If so, do you remember Steve, and how he just suddenly left, and "went off to college"? This is where he went.
Imogen Heap - Sleep
~desvox
A beautifully simple lullaby about....yooouu guessed it, sleeping! <3
Kitaro - Everlasting road
~rogbeer
An instrumental piece. The musicians sound like they are facing some horrors, and yet they can make a song about it. Perhaps it is suitable for people who have seen a dismal turn of events.
Caravan Palace - Lone Digger
~caff
I'm a huge fan of electro-swing, and Caravan Palace is perhaps my favorite electro-swing bands of all time. They also have an unreal energy when you see them live. You don't want the concert to ever end. Lone Digger's the first song I think I ever heard from them, and it got me hooked on their music.
DATA - Don't Sing
~caff
A weird, upbeat song with plenty of atmospheric vocals, and a fairly NSFW video.
Regina Spektor - The Call
~desvox
I don't have any particularly strong memories or real stories about this song. But it always makes me feel so warm and fuzzy and happy. Such a cozy, warm song. I love Regina's vocals.
San Fermin - Jackrabbit
~caff
Jackrabbit is a beautiful, eclectic track. Between the horns backing up the lead singer's immaculate voice, and the jaunty rhythm, this song is one that always leaves me feeling good!
Steam Powered Giraffe - Honeybee
~desvox
This is one of those really calming and depressing songs that I love to listen to when I'm really stressed out. It usually makes me sad, but anger and anxiety just melt when I hear this. I love it so much.
