  i did hello world, but then decided to read
  "The Go Programming Language" (2015)
  instead of continuing the tour.

  - read the preface, interesting
    (sqeak, newsqueak)

  - started Chapter 1 (Tutorial)

  - TODO: GOPATH etc., book might be
    outdated?

  - messed around with strings, utf-8
    stuff (see code); i should wait
    with that or read up on strings
    instead of messin around

  - did Chapter 1.1 (Hello World)

  - did Chapter 1.2. (Command Line Arguments)
    (also did the exercises)

  - got really distracted by reading up
    on the .wav file format. might be a fun
    exercise to learn go messing with .wav
    files

  - got distracted doodling and drawing
    gophers. i like gophers. the glenda
    rabbit is cuter, though
