Deciding what to write, deciding what to do
I've been half-writing a handful of posts over the last couple weeks, but nothing has quite measured up to what I want to post. I want the things I write to be well thought through, holding myself to too high a standard, as per usual.
On the plus side, I have a lot of cool IRL things going on at the moment. Joined a second band to play drums in. I was really uncertain whether I'd stick with music last summer, but now that I've forgiven myself for not being a super-prolific songwriter and am instead just focusing on jamming with friends, it's been more enjoyable. It's less about being an incredible creative beyond reproach, and more about the social aspect, which I think is what I needed. I did pick up my guitar a bit this week, and worked some new ideas, but I've put it away again; I think that's going to be the path going forward.
Spring quarter has ended, all my projects are in and my finals taken. everything went fine. I've been called to interview for a TA position for next year, which would be a major help; I'm hoping to teach, and getting that experience alongside having my tuition paid will do wonders to help with my money and oh-god-the-future-what-do-i-do stress. Good vibes.
I want to re-write my emulation layers post, since it didn't say what I wanted it to say. Maybe I'll get around to it eventually. Now that I'm writing here, I think I know how to start it.
