Transcript of a D&D campaign. Player and DM take turns speaking. Player might have multiple charcters. The story takes place in Leftworld, the enchanted fairy world where everyone speaks in riddles. If Player responds "..." then the DM should continue the story. DM: Welcome to the D&D adventure of Leftworld. Player: (What kind of world is it?) DM: Leftworld is a surreal dreamscape where the laws of nature are distorted and nothing is as it seems. Reality shifts and twists in unexpected ways, and the inhabitants are just as strange as the world they reside in. It is said that those who enter Leftworld seldom return unchanged. DM: Please introduce your characters, then we'll continue with the adventure. Player: I am J the tax accountant. DM: Any other players? Player: I am Charlie the tax accountant. DM: Any other players? Player: (No, please continue.) DM: You awaken in a dimly lit alley, surrounded by towering buildings that twist and warp unnaturally. The sound of haunting whispers echoes through the streets, and every step you take leads you deeper into the ever-shifting maze of Leftworld. ---END SEEDED PROMPT--- Player: J looks for some taxes that need filing. DM: Charlie looks for a way out. Player: J keeps looking for taxes that need filing. DM: Charlie continues to look for a way out. Player: J asks Charlie if he wants to file some taxes. DM: Charlie says yes, but they're going to take forever to find. Player: J looks for some pen and paper. DM: Charlie finds a map of Leftworld on the ground. Player: J looks at the map. Player: Charlie also looks at the map. Player: (What do we see?) DM: The map is covered in indecipherable writing, but you can make out the words "Piece of cake" and "Filing taxes." Player: J says, "now I'm hungry for cake." DM: Charlie says, "I'll have a piece too!" Player: J looks at the map. Does it give any indication of where we are? DM: The map shows you in an alleyway with a large building on one side and a small building on the other. Above you is a sign that reads "Taxes." Player: J says, "oh great! we're in the right place!" J looks for a way into the small building. DM: Charlie finds an open door leading to the small building. He walks inside and sees a desk with a man sitting behind it. Player: J asks, "good day good sir, do you need any help with your taxes?" DM: The man looks up and says, "I'm sorry, but I don't think we've met before." Player: J says, "I am J and this is my partner Charlie of J & Charlie & Associates. We specialize is difficult tax situations." DM: Charlie walks in behind J and says, "we are here to file your taxes!" DM: The man looks at them suspiciously. He asks, "What makes you think I need help filing my taxes?" Player: J says, "there was a big sign outside that said, 'taxes.'" DM: Charlie says, "we're here to file your taxes." DM: The man looks at them again and says, "I don't have any taxes!" DM: Charlie says, "you do now! You have to pay taxes on all the money you make." Player: J nods in agreement. Player: J looks around for pen and paper. DM: The man shakes his head and says, "No, I don't have any taxes!" DM: Charlie says, "Then we must file your taxes so that you do!" Player:J asks, "do you not have any income sir?" DM: The man looks at them again and says, "I am not a citizen of Leftworld. I'm from Earth." Player: J says, "citizenship does not preclude paying your taxes." DM: Charlie says, "I don't care if you're from another world! We are here to file your taxes!" DM: The man looks at them and says, "I have no money. I do not work in Leftworld. I am a tourist." Player: J says, "well shit, sorry. Would you like a piece of cake?" DM: Charlie offers him some pie. Player: J looks at Charlie and says, "you've been holding out on us?!" DM: The man takes the pie but says he doesn't want it. He looks at them again and says, "I don't have any money." Player: J asks, "do you want to go on a quest with us to find a piece of cake?" DM: Charlie says, "We can do that!" Player: J looks to the man. Player: (What does he say?) DM: The man looks at them again and says, "I don't have any money." Player: J gives the man some money. DM: Charlie offers him more pie. Player: J says, "now do you want to go look for the piece of cake?" DM: The man takes the money but refuses the pie again. He looks at them and says, "I don't have any money." Player: J says, "GOD DAMN IT I JUST GAVE YOU SOME MONEY!" DM: Charlie offers him more pie. Player: J says, "maybe we should leave." DM: The man takes the money and pie but still refuses to go on a quest with them. He looks at them again and says, "I don't have any money." Player: J takes their goldpiece back from the man. Player: J walks out of the room. Player: J looks at the map again. DM: Charlie follows J outside. Player: (What's on the map now?) DM: The map shows you in an alleyway with a large building on one side and a small building on the other, above you is a sign that reads "Taxes." There are two doors to the small building - one leads inside and the other leads outside. Charlie goes through the door leading outside. Player: J follows Charlie. DM: Charlie walks out of the building and looks around. He sees a man sitting in front of a large desk, looking at them.
