It's not great, but it's interesting. While it does nothing interesting with the tropes of the usual RPGs, it does a lot with the habits of the RPG gamer. I feel like it's the best remedy for the "elixir syndrome" where you will keep your good items until the final fight, and then not even use them there. Since this game is divided in small segments, it's absolutely useless to do that, and you will actually use things at your disposal at every boss fight. Using this fact, they could have pushed up the difficulty a bit - it's really my biggest reproach of the game. I would recommend it, but on a promotion.
