Thoughts and Opinions

I enjoyed the weird premise at the beginning. The idea of a seige and the castle and convent are starving, needing to be resourceful. The nuns have the science and resourcefulness to make seige weapons to (attempt) to drive off the beseiging enemy. Then weird stuff happens, water gets cleaned by the used-to-be nun.

Then things really get weird, and the Saints show up, and food shows up. And then things all start to get really weird.

Verdict

Generally, it was pretty good. But I started having a hard time focusing and I felt like this book was just dragging by the last quarter. It could have and should have ended earlier. It was generally good, and I quite like the concept and premise, but similar to Pilgrim, it got long winded after a while. Many of the descriptions were great and the atmosphere is weird, but it could have been shorter.
