NFC Wild Card: Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears

there's a lot of statistics to be said about this game: this is the first Bears playoff win since 2010, the fourth team to have won a playoff game while losing this considerably in the fourth quarter, a 2–1 winout against the Packers when they usually lose in that rivalry…

but i just want to take a second to talk about vibes. whoever keeps saying that the Bears are trash and that their winning season this year is a fluke is dead wrong. this array of fourth-quarter comebacks is more reliable than anyone ever anticipated it to be, and boy, does it get the stadium hyped up as well.

my enjoyment of a game isn't derived from the end result, but on the plays happening on the field for sixty minutes. i want to see the bears win, but i also want to see them on fire. and man, do they play exciting football. they're just always so hype.

with that in mind, yes, they did win a very important game! they delivered three touchdowns in a row in the last fifteen minutes of regulation — four if you count the two-point conversion. i think in the broadcast it was mentioned that this is the first time the Bears won a playoff game while losing since the 1930s. obviously that's a silly comparison to make, because it's not the same team, but it's still a very cathartic moment for Soldier Field.

the Bears are going to continue playing at home, against either the Philadelphia Eagles or the Los Angeles Rams. i trust Ben Johnson to deliver us a win, and i trust every player on the field to deliver us a barn burner of a match. go bears!
