Oddammadush

We've mostly recovered from our 
light-sickness, finally, just in 
time to watch our armed escort 
disappear into the brush. Though 
pressed into this enterprise, we've 
managed to reach some degree of 
friendship on the path over. It 
helps to have some attachments 
already--the Kumils graduated 
mining school together, and dear 
Vabok the naturalist was already a 
friend of mine.

There is little time now to record 
our stories: now is the time to 
secure some lodgings and get out of 
this horrid bleaching sunlight. We 
should cut a dirt hovel into the 
hillside and make an everything 
stockpile for our things; we should 
also fell some trees for doors and 
beds. Then, we can start thinking 
about food, and dear alcohol.
