Will a Pentium III Boot Windows 3.1?
Yes, it will.
Got curious over the weekend and tried it out. It worked!
* Had to find a DOS 6 boot disk
* Installing Windows 3.1 on DOS > v6 causes an error about Windows not being able to run on said version of DOS.
* My MBR does not work. Not sure how to fix it. In the mean time, I need to boot via bootdisk and a modified autoexec.bat
* Soundcard, NIC and (obviously) USB do not work. Serial and CD-ROM work, though.
* This is the fastest WIndows 3.1 machine I've ever used.
