My Web Directory

I have decided I want a web directory of my own linking to other web directories. And so here it is.

Basically, I am currently more or less satisfied with the number of links I have added to my directory of webrings, and so rather than add more to that, for now I am starting a new different directory with a different but related theme

• Baby Carrot!

This is a great web directory with some website making resources, some fun stuff including gaming, art, tools, and miscellaneous, along with a whole bunch of cool sites! The link to the English Otome Games website caught my eye. I can't get enough otome games!

• Itinerae

This is another website with a really cool selection of links including resources for coding, file hosting, photo editing, widgets, tools (Hey! Shoutout to the HTML validation service here!), and some cool sites and resources for pixel art, graphics, and backgrounds.

• the largest known old web graphic directory on the internet!!!

This page has 245 links listed going to all manner of pixels, blinkies, glitter, and so on and so forth and I think it may be one of the most awesome web directories of all time!

• The Wall of Other Awesome Netizens (spiritcellar)

This wall has 536 links in it. Incredible!

This wall is in front of a lovely starfield and is one of my favorite button walls to look at with the way the buttons are nicely brick-tiled with some cute gifs by each side

• pipi

I find the site hard to read with that light pink on very light pink color scheme, but regardless, is does boast a vast number of links!

The links are spread onto various areas of the page, and they include 69 nekoweb links and 84 neocities links! Amazing! 🤩

It looks like there are a lot of webrings too! This page probably would have made it onto my webrings page if I had come upon it while I was doing that one.

• DIMDEN NAVLINK ADS!

This is a very amusing site concept where they give ads for personal websites. Cool!

It says there are 131 participating sites right now and I think that's super awesome 😁

• KNOXSTATION

This site has a very good amount of links listed in a very sweet button marquee/carousel at the bottom. Snazzy!

The Frutiger Aero theme is totally perfect!

• Nom Nom Nami Link Collection

This is a site that I linked to previously on the webrings page

This directory page is very nicely organized with resources for Small Web, Game Development, Drawing, Music Production, and social links too.

• DinPixels

This is a very nice looking site with a good amount of links to other sites spread around the page in nice areas

There is a window on the page called "💫 Navlinks!" and it shows "ads" for other pages. Super cool idea!

• .:dudalog:.

Here is another very nice listing of favorite sites. There are quite a few portuguese language sites listed. (But still mostly English). Many of the links come with descriptive blurbs!

• chimerathing bookmarks

This is a very well thought out big web directory with categories and blurbs.

Categories covered here include Countries in Need; Gaming & Game Consoles; Mental Health & Neurodivergency; Movies & TV; Music; Poltical Stuff; Queer History, Resources, & Commentaries; and Vocal Synths.

I appreciate the inclusion of political stuff and side note, as I type this I have a twitch stream called "imreallyimportant" playing discussing current events politics

• Shiroganes Links Page

This is a very nicely laid out site with a super great collection of categorized links with blurbs.

Categories here include Site Buttons, Graphics, Fandom, Education, and Other.

• SunnyDay v2 Resources / Cool Sites

It says this page is WIP; regardless, it looks like a pretty nice selection of links to me. It links to Tools, Mental Health Resources, Coding Resources, Graphics and Decoration, Learning and Education, Art and References, Fun Sites, Television, and Games & Emulation.

There are very good small blurbs for each link!

• Cinni's Dream Home Links

This directory is stuffed to the gills with some pretty cool miscellaneous links!

Elsewhere on the site there is tons of cute stuff to check out as well!

• The Doll Archive Links

This page focuses on websites. There are a lot of Neocities & Old Web links, along with Web Materials/Sozai, and DeviantArists, Comics, and Misc.

I still need to look up the meaning of sozai but I guess it is a japanese website graphics subculture

• links ᐧ hunterirving.com

This page has a lot of links with tags for filtering them and blurbs too!

The look of the site is clearly legible and futuristic, and the button filtering is totally fun and unique!

• Rubbereon Cool stuff! Weblinks.

Here is a great list of links with helpful icons so we can see some details about each site on the list.

• Solaria's Webspace Resources Link Catalogue

This directory has a lot of resources including tutorials, browser tools, collections, software, delight, and games.

• Nova Galaxium Landing Page (pastel-skies)

This landing page has a good amount of button links in marquees.

On top of that, there are a ton of webrings! This page could have gone on my webrings list instead; it's good to see one that can go either way!

• doqmeat info resources links

Here is a very large directory of super nice links in a bunch of categories outlined carefully

There are even more links on the bookmarks page, too!

Here is another very large web directory that has been updated in August.

It links a good amount of resources and things for people interested in web

• List of Personal Manifestos (The Yesterweb)

A lot of links to personal manifestos

The page has a pretty length post-mortem about the now defunct yesterweb community, and I think it was very helpful reading for me personally to understand a different perspective on the peripheral web

• Cybernetic Dryad Glen Links Collection!

This directory includes links for neighbors, cool websites, quiet homes, empty homes, fun stuff, cool newsletters, life wisdom, software they like, web building & graphics, and public domain/open access resources.

elsewhere on the site they have a very nicely done point and click adventure through the site

• seafare

Seafare! This site has a lot of links!

There are a lot of fun links including awesome sites and online resources, which include coding & website design, graphic design, miscellaneous resources, and character makers!

I might have to take a look at the beginner's guide to neocities

• Ame's Neko no Kuni ⸺ links directory

this page links to 437 hosts!

There are very attractive buttons to sort and filter through the many links included.

There are plenty of resources here for creating websites!

• Kitty Friends Pixel Club

A lot of pixel kitty links to various websites! Interestingly, we know next to nothing about the sites that are being linked to; just what their chosen kitty looks like.

• Jug's humble abode

This site has quite a few links! Many of them are buttons for "Friends and Cool Sites"

The page links to 151 unique hosts!

• Ichomancer's Domain

Here is another site with a very good number of button links in its marquee! Yay!

This is an extremely beautiful website with a look and feel that reminds me personally of classic 90s gaming, including the amazing X-COM UFO DEFENSE

• MIDIfreak

It looks like this button wall has 58 links inside

There are tons of super nice gradients on this page!

In addition to the button wall, the site has a links page (which doesn't have enough links to meet my inclusion criterion page for this directory of directories on its own 😭) which has a nice set of extra pages for some neat little resources

• millie squilly dot com Links

Here is another links page which includes some buttons, and even a couple of webcomics as well. This collection of links is very impressive!

• aloe.gay likelinks

Here is a list of personal websites and other links with tags to help navigate them.

In addition to listing each link in the main categories, they are listed again under their own tags at the bottom. I love this idea!

• Artemis Places on the Web

  118 links!

This is a very kind, thoughtful site. It has light mode / dark mode toggle, and it is laid out with legibility, accessibility, and responsiveness clearly in mind. The links are of excellent quality with helpful categories and blurbs. They have linked many of the most useful and popular sites all over the web! I highly suggest checking this one out.

• NEONAUTICON WEB DIRECTORY

Here is a great well-polished directory which lists some websites along with webrings, cliques, and widgets.

• BURGERITCHI

Well, I do see a burger! I see some other foods as well... I see a sushi! I see a soda can!

It looks like this site links to 75 hosts

They even have 88 messages in the guestbook! o_0

• EGGRAMEN ⟫ Links

It looks like a real wonderful large proper web directory with categories and blurbs.

I think this may be the largest conlanging section I've seen in any of these directories yet! 🗪

It looks like 292 different hosts must be linked here. What a great page!

(The warning notes that some links may be rotted and I definitely stumbled on one of those at the "Poob". Oof!)

• Gabe Rocks!

Here's another page with a bunch of link buttons all over the place! It's exactly the kind of thing I am looking for.

I didn't have a lot to say about it, but one thing caught my attention: one of the 88x31 buttons (the sovereign web) is a 649 kb file? o_O. Idk, I am gonna look at file sizes on these teeny tiny gifs more often because it's definitely possible for some of them to be surprisingly heavy

• Yue's Space of Chaos

There are about ten webrings linked along with some cliques and more than 50 neighbor buttons!

There are also tutorial links in the useful links section

There are even quite a few webrings! 🎆

• Kawaii Button Collection

Linking to a lot of other interesting and motivating and helpful and pretty sites

This site is fairly small overall, but very cute!

• Tenshin Light Website

This page has a lot of links in the "extra" section going out to neighbors and tuff sites.

This site has a color scheme that I find hard to read... I guess I would describe it as "light baby blue on very light baby blue"

That's quite alright! I will have a look at it in w3m web browser (shout out to the goat btw) and let's see what we've got (although I don't typically look at all these sites in w3m web browser)

• Roller Girlz HQ Cool Links

A lot of links to neighbors and cool sites and fanlistings and resources

• Antikrist Lol Links

🎃 this is a totally good list of all sorts of links!

(btw, I linked to the links page directly but it is clearly meant to be viewed in iframe on the homepage. I linked it this way to get to the big pile of links more directly)

• Valentinely Links

There are a lot of links here!

(Oof! I am finding that more of these are sites that I visited previously during my wanderings, and which I guess I just forgot to include here the first time around for whatever reason)

It looks like this page links to 208 hosts. Amazing! These links are very nicely and clearly categorized into affiliates, neighbors, sites, resources, and community

The resources are focused on web dev and look very handy, with useful blurbs to help understand each one!

• Valyce Negative Button Wall Affiliates

I am seeing that this page links to 156 hosts.

I see some domain affiliates here, along with some neko neighbors and neo neighbors, plus some archive listings and webrings and some useful links about the website craft and more! Communites, Archives, Research, Tools, Resources, Aesthetic, Inspiration, and even vlogs! There is quite a bit of a lot listed here in a nice friendly format and a totally awesome art style!

• Bechno Kid's Hideout Links

Another one I thought I ought to have added to the page before now

This has a very nice legible layout of links to affiliates, neighbors, and others. There are nice credits and things

Another great links page, and this time it has a windows 95 internet explorer theme! I love it!

There are even ascii art links! I am totally happy!

• armxnd.io

I see that this index page links to 74 unique hosts!

and on top of that, the .linkx page links to 104 unique hosts on its own

I totally think there are tons of great resources here that must be worth checking out

• brooklynights

This site is very confusing to look at!

regardless, this page does seem to boast links to 146 unique hosts (and on top of that, the home page has a count of 119 as well)

It looks very confusing in w3m web browser too, to be quite honest, but at least that way if I scroll down I can find the list of we_bring members

The links list confirms that there are 156 anchor links in total, and 178 images?? o_0 oh my gosh...

If there is some puzzle for making the webring members visible, I couldn't figure it out. The best I could come up with was

  document
   .querySelectorAll(
    '.noscr'
   )
   .forEach(e => {
    e.style
     .setProperty(
      'height',
      '100%'
     );
  });

Oddly, the site contains some source code apparently from a point and click adventure game called corru.observer o_0

I am not quite sure what to make of that. Apparently it is coming from https://corru.observer/js/buddy_extern.js

I might want to look into that further

• VE3ZSH Links

This is a very large and comprehensive list of useful weblinks... There are 1699 unique hosts linked! o_0

I see that there is a submission form to accept user suggested links; I wonder if this is the secret that has allowed the page to grow so vast! o_0

• Laika's Lonely Planet Links (Voyager Spaceship)

I see that this page links to 99 unique hosts.

There are very nice blurbs and categories here! It looks like a good place to pick up some links.

• Nanacore links

There are cool favorite websites and some fanlistings, cliques, and webrings.

A very clean, sparse, inviting design! It's a little surprising when looking at the page, but it seems that it does link to 79 unique hosts!

• Novalite.Rest

  A well-organized directory of resources!

I count 91 unique hosts linked from this page. This includes the indie web neighboring personal sites along with useful resources.

I am curious about the web games that are linked! I will want to return to check these out

• splattacks (nathub) links

I have linked to the links page directly, but this page is clearly meant to be viewed in an iframe on the main page!

For my own convenience, I prefer to be able to get to the links page from here in one click, so that's why I have linked this way. It is not ideal, however.

There are some very intriguing resources and articles linked from this page!

• Dorival's Bar / Buteco do Dorival

This page is in portuguese. The links are even categorized into Brazucas and Gringos! 😂

The layout is super clean and has tons of friendly breathing room; it hardly looks like it, but it actually links out to 76 unique hosts!

My secret is that I have been surfing these sites using Google Chrome Web Browser, but on this site I learn that Google Chrome IS EVIL! 😔

• Princess Online

This home page has a big button wall for neighbors tucked conveniently into a corner; this page links to 84 unique hosts!

• Pombo Gay

This page links to 176 unique hosts!

  This site is in Portuguese.

There are links to scads of neocities sites and a lot of resources too!

• Cyberstheb Links

I have linked to the links page directly even though it is obviously meant to be viewed inside an iframe on the main page.

The layout of this links page really appeals to me and I think there are a lot of cool resources!

It is definitely a site I can see myself revisiting many times to explore more links!

• Ana Marrie Mei Vizinhos

This is a site in portuguese which links to a LOT of different neocities sites. There are 132 unique hosts among the links! o_0

Hey! After adding this site to my list of links, this very page now meets my requirement to be included on itself! The requirement I have for these pages is that they must link out to a minimum of 69 unique hosts. And with these last two that I added, my page now includes 70 unique hosts among its links!

• Zabnik in the Void

It looks like this page links to 137 unique hosts, and indeed, the one card with the heading "cool places on the interwebs" at the top has 111 unique hosts linked inside. What a winner!

The Froggy Bog is basically like a Froggy Friends Pixel Club. I love it!

• Koshka's Kingdom ... The Dock

This Links Directory links to 322 unique hosts! On top of that, The Scratching Post Updates Archive links to 104! There is a pretty big emphasis on retro-gaming, among many, many topics

• Melonland Wiki List of Manifestos of the Web Revival

A very cool resource! Here on this wiki page, they have listed out 74 manifesto links! Definitely worth checking out

• WOS HOME

Here is a directory that immediately caught my eye! The page links to 152 unique hosts (the usual count that I am going by when checking these pages), but in this case I hasten to add that there are actually 401 links here in total!

The reason I typically go by unique hosts and not total links is that many pages have large amounts of internal links. In this case, however, a very large number of archived youtube videos have been included in the directory. I think that's totally noteworthy and cool!

This site points to many Personal Blogs as well, which belong to the peripheral web and include some areas that I've only touched on lightly on this page for now (for instance, tastyfish is linked to. for me, this is a good sign)

• cidoku.net All links

This page has a very large mix of links including a blend of web revival and legacy web. 502 unique hosts! 👏

• uwusearch Find Websites

  I found another one!

I have linked to a page that has 112 unique hosts linked! Now, in this particular case, there is a lot more on the website because I have linked to just one page full of links among many. I chose this page because it has more links than most. As a happy coincidence, I also think this particular page is super relevant to my own page here because the page I have linked to is full of links to resources for finding other websites! Finding other websites is the ultimate goal of what I am doing here! (although I feel like I have a ways to go before I actual compile a usable resource hre haha)

That said, the whole site seems well worth exploring! The "Wikis" page has even more unique hosts linked than the page I linked to!

I also enjoyed reading the tips and tricks for web search at the bottom of the "Find Websites" page I linked to. Have a super great time with it!

• LIME's SILLY LIL WEBSITE (riotghoul)

This homepage includes links to 322 unique hosts!

554 links in total. It looks like 77 links in the neighbors section, 43 in the webrings section... oh wow! 229 in the Info and Fun Stuff section? Let's see. Okay, it looks like 224 of those are square buttons for fanlistings!

Okay, and then it looks like the "Cliques and Such" section contains 123 links. These are super awesome, useful and impressive!

I guess that means there should be another 82 links in there somewhere. These aren't all grouped into a single HTML element, but the Navigation section has about 17 I think. The Other Links section has 10.

Ah! Here we go. The button marquee at the top has 35. And the top navbar has 7. That leaves 13 I think? Okay, there are 8 in the footer. 1 for the Tamanotchi... 4 more? (I don't think this is a totally exact count OTL). 1 for the website counter. Okay, I have had a pretty good time exploring this intricate homepage! It is now noon and I am going to go to lunch. I think I will come back some time because this is a Very good web directory!

• Hill House Links

Here is another very nice button wall.

This page links to 146 unique hosts!

I see 69 links in the button wall, out of 164 total on the page...

Okay, so there are eight articles (I personally love the button nav style!) and 73 links in the "neighborhood" (including dead links; but not including a couple dead links which have the title attribute set and not the href. I wonder if the intention might have been to change the href to title on all the dead links? That would make sense but idk.)

and then 16 more links under timetravel, 16 under night, 9 under labyrinth, 19 under functional, 8 under scrapbook, 21 under library, and 1 under webrings

(but the webrings section doesn't have its own button and appears to be out of date)

• Artwork Links

Here is a vast button wall which links to 334 unique hosts!

Very nice presentation and I love the colors and highlights!

It's a cool place to view the kinds of pixel buttons people are using! They look sooo cool

• StiMPOP

This homepage links to 128 unique hosts! Amazing!

This appears to be due to using a tabbed layout which I totally love! This link wall concept is one that I haven't seen before, and it's totally awesome! It appears to be just a little bit similar to the Kitty Friends Pixel Club, but instead of just kitties, there are all sorts of little pixel art mascots and each one links to somebody's site! Incredible!

• Killing-Machine Links (Hank's Bookmarks)

Here is another links page that is designed to be viewed in an iframe on the main site; once again I am linking to the links directly to save me that extra click

This links page links out to 195 unique hosts!

There are button walls but also a very nice categorized and alphabetized directory of useful resources with blurbs to describe each one. Perfect!

• You Will Be Safe

There is a very nice looking button list with buttons filtered pink until you hover over them and they grow bigger and full color! Looks cool!

• sugarbunny

This one has 59 buttons in the fanlistings

there are 110 unique hosts linked in total

It looks like there are another 50 in the little stampbox button widget!

• Z:\User\Rainieday\Misc

Looks like there 112 links in the button wall under Internet neighbors. Great!

There is also a resource page with a nice tabbed layout! Not every tab is filled in with content yet, but there are links under the "HTML, CSS, Java", "Widget", "Layout", and "Graphics" tabs.

• clownfred zone links

It looks like there are 74 links in the button wall! That's the kind of thing that I am gathering up in my list here!

• raygammas pixelcliques

There are a lot of wonderful pixel art links here, and they remind me of what I saw earlier on STiMPOP. Very cool!

• LUNAR CORVUS LINKS PAGE

Here is an enormous links page; it links out to 426 unique hosts! On top of that, the home page links to 112 unique hosts.

It links to a lot of Wikipedia pages, which is cool and different to see (Wikipedia is my personal favorite website of all time, of course!)

It looks like there are 267 links in the button wall. Incredible!

• rice place

This home page links out to 107 unique hosts. The mutuals banner at the bottom includes 96 links! That's super great.

The giant sized memes page is incredible! 🤩

• DATOXICWALTZ

Here is another page with a lot of links! The button wall has 66 links inside (under accomplices)

I totally love that graphic of the guitar with bright glowing green contraptions strapped to it for some reason!

• MOUSELING.net Links

Here is a truly enormous links page with 333 links; linking out to 314 unique hosts

(it looks like 29 of them are onion links btw)

The majority of links (260) are part of a large button wall; it says these are maintained via stealing Other Demons' webring data. Fair enough!

The part above the large button wall is really good with blurbs to explain each link. I love to see it! (although some of the blurbs are kinda funny; oof, it reminds me of mine! Hey, sometimes I struggle to think what are the things that will actually be useful for my future self to know when figuring out whether to check out a link again)

• ophanimkei links

The other sites + cliques section has a lot of very cool buttons and pixel art links. I am reminded again of the Kitty Friends Pixel Club. It seems that this pixel art style link wall is actually common now that I know to look for it. Cool!

• Key's Klubhouse links

This page is shown in an iframe on the main index page, but I think it looks totally fine this way on its own as well!

It links out to 315 different unique hosts. There are totally good categories and blurbs, and some cool button walls towards the bottom as well.

  I love the background gradient!

• luahtml

There are a bunch of button walls and several webrings. The page links out to 70 unique hosts!

I saw sooo many BSOD when browsing this site o_0

• KANAN DRAW: coolcorner

I was a little confused as to where the links actually are on this site 😅

So, basically I linked directly to the page again even though it is meant to be shown in an iframe

This coolcorner shows animated buttons and it links out to 221 different unique hosts!

• glitchwolf471

This page has a button marquee with 53 links in it.

There are webrings and cliques too! In total it looks like the page links out to 80 different unique hosts

• Cool Links! (pizzacatdelights)

Here is a huge link wall! Once again, I have linked to it directly rather than linking in context to where it is shown on the main page in an iframe

I think that is super cool in this case because you get an absolutely just massive button wall! 363 unique hosts are linked here!

• "Hold My Hand!" Pixel Club

Another pixel club! I always mentally think of Kitty Friends Pixel Club, which was the first that caught my attention. Here all the pixel characters are holding hands, so that's friendly! As usual, we just see pixel arts without any other indication of what kind of site we are getting linked to. It could be a fun surprise! I like to see the personality that people have drawn some of the characters with, like Spider-Woman and Santa Claus. Very interesting!

• THE V0IDSPACE

This site has over 400 links on it! There are 313 unique hosts among them.

I like that the main site banner changes each time I refresh the page! The banners are pretty cool.

The cool websites in the list are categorized: baubles, art, misc, gode norske, webtoys, nostalgia, music, literature, software, games

  Lots of webrings too!

• Bean's Little Corner (gloomygoose13): Pixel Clubs

This is a beautiful tabbed pixel art links page, very similar to what I saw on STiMPOP's page. I love this concept!

• about sewerwolfx

This about page links out to 71 unique hosts. It looks like several webrings along with fanlistings

There is also a links page (although it has fewer links and would not meet my requirement of 69 unique hosts on its own) and these are some good links worth checking out

• plasticdino

Here is another page with some big button walls. The whole page links out to 339 unique hosts!

There are additionally a lot of categorized links with blurbs! That mix is exactly what I love to see.

I spotted a dead link checker in there. That's something I would totally use!

(it is a bit ironic in a funny way since literally the first link I tried from that page was one called yyyyyyy.info and it was dead. 😁 But hey, it happens with these big sites. Running that dead link checker now and then might help things tidy)

• miserabledolly links

This page links out to 132 unique hosts!

Again it is a nice mix of button wall above with categorized and blurbed resource links below. I think this organization is one of the most useful and logical!

• twitchcoded on the web: cool pages !!

Once again I have linked to the links page directly even though it is meant to display in an iframe on the main page. There's an extra incentive to do that this time since for some reason the main page took ages to load idk. Maybe my computer just sucks haha 😅 (although the others sites haven't been problems 😕)

This page links out to 139 unique hosts!

It uses the familiar structure with a button wall at the top, followed by useful resources which are categorized and blurbed. It's probably my favorite layout overall for its utility!

• dannarchy: Battyville Virtual Vault (Links)

This is one of the most enormous button walls I think I have encountered, with 715 buttons. 🤯

The sitemap conveniently provides a screenshot preview of each page. Super interesting idea!

• mle-s-paint ~Links~

Here is a links page with button walls going out to 90 unique hosts

  (I got MEGA LOAFED btw)

• VenCake LINKS

Here is a page that links out to 123 unique hosts!

  Button walls and webrings. Nice!

The external resources page also has a very good amount of useful links!

• VHSMARONITE Links

This page links out to 74 unique hosts! I learned the word "sedevacantism" here! 😔

This site also puts its button walls separately on the about page.

• ✨🪐 Ransei's 🌀 Void 🪐✨: Links

This page links to 73 unique hosts! I believe this is the 108th link, and that is the target I had set for myself. I will set this aside for now!

A nice directory page; clear layout with button wall at the top and categorized resource links with tiny blurbs below

The page links to 72 unique hosts! I have linked to the links page directly although it is displayed on an iframe when navigating to it on the main page

This is one of the very largest button walls with links out to 945 unique hosts! They have buttons for all kinds of sites (not just neocities), like software downloads and things. Very interesting! (There are many, many neocities sites represented, of course!)
