SO yesterday I was playing Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, but it was hacked to be randomized. And I set it in French to fuck around and started playing. The starting pokemon were Hariyama, Jellicent, and Vaporeon. I lost my mind when I saw there was a vaporeon there!!!! I love vaporeon I was so happy. So no doubt, no question that would be what I pick. But some of my friends were telling me that I was going to lose to the rival battle, like there was no way to avoid it, because the rival would have the Jellicent and it has an ability that makes water-type pokemon not able to affect it at all. So I keep going in the game and I try to train up the vaporeon a bit so that it would have a chance but my friend found some calculator or something and said that it would have to be level 30 to survive this.
So this is what the rival battle was looking like.
This is what the rival battle looked like when it started, and this is also what it looked like after I had ran out of about 25 turns of PP, which I knew I had left with a full tank of from the Pokemon Center. I took this screenshot about 25 turns into the battle once I realized how ridiculous this battle was.
I also wanna remind you that I chose to set the game in French, so I'll be translating with my rough understanding of French as we go. Here is one example: This basically says "This doesn't affect the enemy Moyade..." because of the Moyade's ability.
Also I just want to remind you that I do not remember names sometimes and I guarantee I will just start calling these guys by their French names sometimes.
So I was expecting Vaporeon not to be able to atttack the jellyfish, but I wasn't expecting that the Vaporeon would have a certain type of ability too...
My Vaporeon has an ability where any water-type moves replenish his health!!
Which means that after like 25 turns we were both still at full health.
I was just mashing to get through it, so I didn't even really notice when things started to change. I was looking at the moves to see how much PP had been used, and I was realizing that all the moves were in French so I had no clue what they were gonna do.
I don't know what is mapped to the LR buttons on this emulator so I had no way of pulling up the info for it either. The only move that I think I figured out was Charge, being Tackle. But do you see how much PP has been used???? I only had 8 turns of PP left, but I think the Jellicent had already started struggling at this point since it had hit itself into the yellow. Here's what I think translates to "has no more usable moves:"

Anyway, the Jellicent kept struggling, and it struggled itself to death. This guy lost!!!!!!! "Ah, well, you're more strong, in fact!"
So my cool Vaporeon won a battle that he was supposed to have been lv30 to win. Hell yeah.
