I've had several caffeinated drinks today (matcha mug in the morning, three Nespresso pods of 'French Vanilla' today. Low attendance means double treats :-) Two chocolate chip cookies for me >:3
Group meeting went very smoothly, everyone was chill with the topic and the format (podcast), which is a big relief. Love being able to reuse old classwork (thank you, limnology)
Talked to Dan last night. It's always nice to hear from my brother. He's still stuck in toddler showerhead hell until they get a guy out to fix the pipes or whatever, probably sometime by mid November. Absolute nightmare. The weather's cooling down a bunch- it was very windy today. Study week is on the horizon. Asked the coordinator about tapping HR on the shoulder for me, and she said that she'd forward an email when she knows more, which was very lovely of her.
Tomorrow is the last hurdle to stumble over before study week... So much stuff to get finished before then. I've got two reports, and at least one presentation, but really I should be working on ANOTHER one and the class I'm auditing, and thesis related work, and trying to drudge ahead with the papers. Blech. But definitely I need to finish those two reports and the presentation, cause those can't wait, lmao. They're due right after the break. The building is closed on Monday, but campus should be open again for the rest of the week, since the engineers don't get a fall reading week.
Also saw a ridiculously fat squirrel burying acorns on the commute in. Very cute. Popped Dan a quick message about it. It's been really nice waking up to good morning messages from P, but it's also kind of exciting to be the one to wake up first and send one her way, which is a fun way to motivate myself to groggily get out of bed. Plus, waking up to RP replies is the BEST thing ever, and daydreaming about responses helps makes commutes a lot less miserable.
Got pretty lost the other day because I didn't cross the street, and there's a big ass building that results in you walking a block higher than is needed, so at least I know that now for the future. Better to learn that now than later on, when it's all snowy and terrible out. Have been having fun wearing my little zipup to bed though.
Have not really been chewing through as many pages in my diary as I anticipated. Mostly because I've been doing morning entries, I think, which tend to be a bit shorter than typical.
