Going to get my flu shot today, and I'm settled into the grad space to attend to some personal items on my docket and have a bit of a snack before scrambling over to get the jab. It'll be unpleasant to be sick for a few days, as always happens to me afterwards, but it's much better than either straight up dying to the flu, or getting so damn sick that I wish I would have, between the approximately two weeks of horrors and avalanche of missed deadlines and academic material that that would constitute for me.

Kind of sleepy, I had a bit of a nap in after waking up unsettlingly early this morning- daylight savings has been a bit of an adjustment. I usually tend to head home around the same time, because routine is helpful for me, and I've noticed that it tends to also line up with when it gets pitch dark. The one nice thing about the grad space is that there are plenty of windows to monitor sunlight by as the day passes, which is sort of nice- especially compared to the liminal timewarp of the quad's buildings.

Massive wound in the side of my head. Blood was matting my hair down like crazy, and it took forever to clean it up. Sent off a clarification email to my prof and got a good answer back, yay. Kind of hilarious with the emoji and 'Sent from my iPhone' signature, though. It's always so trippy, communicating with non-STEM department profs, who definitely have their own expectations of etiquette that're more formal.

Going to take it easy between the flu shot and the head injury.
