a rainy day, the first time i was not awoken by the dawn in a while
what should i do? i need ideas, inspiration, something to fill these hours with...
who knew i would have all this time??
so wander under the misty grey sky, young one. find a plant you haven't met yet.
stare towards the hidden horizon. read a borrowed library book. dream a little.
eat, so you don't go hungry. stretch your stiff limbs a bit. listen to music.
try to learn one of songs you listen to, for once. send an email to your grandmother. how is she doing?
find some poems that make you cry, pinned to a bulletin board. check your mailbox - still nothing.
chat with your friends back home, you will see them again soon enough. hide under the blanket of your
bed - it is a bit chilly. think of the coming year, the adventures yet to be had. the friends to be made.
the skills to be honed. what should you do now?
i look at the misty grey sky, and dream. the words don't exist, but that's okay. i will find them someday.
will i recognize them when i do? perhaps, i hope so...
maybe i will sing a song

I am in college!!!
hanging out with some friends in my dorm
just practicing bow drill and hand drill,
hoping not to set off the alarms.
Toured town, classes start in 2 days!!!

speaking of which, i do want to be more active on here... i think this time of moving to college is a good time to
rediscover old interests and form new ones. I played a pickup game of ultimate frisbee today. never done that before...
I had a very busy day, practicing tin whistle, climbing trees (even saying hi to the crows), and going to the LIBRARY.
I miss my friends though...

is it not a marvel that the sun does rise
and bathe my bedroom wall in golden light?
that the jay does jeer at precisely 5 past 7
and wake me up to face the day?
i don't want to leave, but leave i must
i shall return, i hope, i trust.
I'm sad. I'll miss my friends...
At least I will see them before I leave..

a summer before college
why did i never do all the things i now rush to experience
the last hurried two weeks, before things change forever?
i never found love, never read all those books,
that weigh down my shelves, give withering looks.
never biked way past midnight, beneath starry dark
my lovely friend and i: alone in the park
never did write any story with meaning
just a factual journal, my day, and no dreaming
why now do i try to write out all those dreams?
to make whole the unfinished dreams all around
to read one book at a time, and close covers and cry
to eat the green apples to explore to care and to try.
this is not my last chance but i leave and go far
and i do not know what i will be able to bring
my friends in this town i will leave...
my room full of unfinished things...
my grandparents old, my father aloof
my love unresolved, my cat so very floof.
these last two weeks i must do the things i love
and keep on doing, and trying, no matter where my life goes.
the future may be a fog
but a fog that hugs me, and tells me to trust
that there will be plenty of apples and books and love in this life.
ignore how bad this poem is... I'm just kinda sad I'm only now just doing all the things I wish I'd done sooner...

It's spring now, and it feels like a good time to revisit things.

oh. hello.
I said i would make more blog posts. I didn't do that. Sorry.
Anyways... School for me is almost over, and I'm looking forward
to doing more stuff here this summer.
