Tom: I made a very janky induction heater with a battery. I am very happy that I made a thing.
Stef: I also made a thing, this morning I made a lil tool to encode a small data stream in plain sight. I've decided this will be on of my new hobbies.
Anie: I got fucked. It was nice.
Stef: I don't wanna go to group therapy on Wednesday. I made an ass of myself last time. The facilitator made me feel uncomfortable, but I also know if I drop it, that'll be a "black mark" on our record at CAMH, which could have negative outcomes for us in the future.
Tom: (a) I think that's unlikely, especially if you let them know you're dropping it, and (b) you could always send one of us to go instead.
Anie: I don't want to go.
EVelyn: you should go to therapy
Tom: OK, ok. I'll go either for the last few weeks, unless you set something else up, like 1:1 therapy.
Anie: OH OH! Gem told us about a family of therapy we should look at... what was is called...?
Tom: It's in our ToDoist. /me checks
Tom: "EMDRIA" and "IFS - internal family systems".
Stef: That's the one that turns people plural
Tom: perhaps, but we're already plural, so what do we have to lose?
Stef: ok, I'll add it to todoist
Anie: REMEMBER THAT THING WHERE WE THOUGHT SOMEONE'S LIFE.ORG FILE WAS A LINK TO LIFE.ORG
Tom: It's funny that they just have one org file and put all their todo lists in them. I did a similar thing.
Stef: But emacs doesn't have a watch interface like ToDoist does.
Tom: Madison would say that the problem was "Linux"
1 Oct 00:22 am ET
Stef: so in lieu of weekly therapy, we're going to have lil' check-ins on feels?
Tom: and spill our pluralness all over town?
Stef: look, I'm pretty sure the only people that read our feels are: Madison, dozens, bx, and marcus. I don't think anyone of them would mind being a fly on the wall in our head.
Anie: and we can post memes!
Tom: I don't think feels does images
Stef: ASCII memes... ... ...I wonder if that's a thing
Tom: love y'all, I'm going to be
Anie: me too
Stef: ok, I'll close up shop
14:19
Stef: work is stressing me out
Tom: the dev environment stuff?
Stef: yeah, but also like, just the project in general
Anie: would a longer break help?
Stef: maybe, but I also feel like we need to move the needle with this by the end of the day because we won't be working tomorrow
Anie: are you paid to move needles?
Stef: ... yes? What are you getting at?
Anie: I think we're paid to show up and do our best. Nothing in the job description mentions "success" or "output". I believe it says something like, "work with a team to...," so you really just need to be a team player
Tom: yeah, but isn't getting work done part of being a team player?
Anie: in a round about way, but look, just because a teammate needs to rest, doesn't make them a team player
Stef: buy I feel like I've done a lot of resting
Anie: today?
Stef: no, but
Anie: you should at least take a lunch break, eh?
Stef: ...
Tom: she's right
Stef: she's right
18:50
Tom: day's over
Stef: but we still have to do the development environment for work done because we're not working tomorrow
Anie: it makes me nervous that we're working after hours. It could lead to burn out
Tom: I'll do it. I'll do it funputer style. Maybe we get it done, maybe we don't /me shrugs
Stef: ok, I'll relax
Anie: <3
