A record of when I first joined the Fediverse

A great side effect of using mutt is that I can easily scroll way back and check even the first email I ever received - no "infinite scroll," no javascript loading, no bloat, just speed.

And just this evening I was looking for something that I knew I had received way back and stumbled into this gem of an email: the account creation confirmation email sent automatically from Quitter.se - RIP you pioneering giant! - when I created my first account in the Fediverse ever, way back in October 2015:

Wow, and to think that's almost 10 years today!

Here's a fun fact: if we consider the entire Fedi a single social network, it's by far the one I spent the most time on, not to mention my engagement. I always considered other social networks annoying and trashy, but from the moment I landed in Fedi, I was hooked from the start. Great people, great content, a lightweight stack and great variety of clients to choose from. And all Free Software.

Here's to another 10 years of Federated greatness, Fedi!
