Well, I've submitted my entry for that pnp game jam. I think I've tried to participate in others before but this one feels...bigger, despite it being called "Pocket Quest."
I'm hoping that it gets good reception from people when it's released on May 4th, alongside other submissions.
This had been tumultuous. This jam lasted about two months, and I think I spent a good 1.5 of it trying to think of something that I'd like. I think I've rewritten the rules using different systems at least three times? I talked about it with my partner and he said something along the lines of letting the players play detective. Which got me looking around and I found a solo journaling system that leaned into the whole uncovering a mystery thing. It definitely worked out better and things started to fall into place better.
But then I had to set this to a layout. It took me three tries to find one I could stick with because it could do what I need it to do and it didn't bug out on me. It's interesting how often I've written off something like LibreOffice Writer as a page layout program. Granted, it's still not idea, but it worked. It did what I needed it to do and honestly, this is the most in-depth I got with Writer, ever. It almost like I gained a superpower! But not really :P
I'd like to learn LaTeX next.
