Latest thoughts/feelings worth sharing:
I am trying to deal with the cosmic constipation: having so much to say but being so introverted I don't want to say it while under surveillance...

Exploring tilde.town:
I'm new to town, so I'm still just exploring. These are my initial ponderings
generated by my initial wanderings.
May be useful to newcomers.

I love botany. It encourages coming back often, and reinforces the idea that not only
this virtual plant, but also this whole virtual town, is worth returning to regularly in order to nurture and sustain it.
Thanks so much, ~curiouser!

The chat is the watering hole around which everyone passes through at some point to say "hi".
Simple, but effective. Friendly, accepting, and supportive.
-
The bbj text-based forum, with the ability to post under different psuedonyms or no nym at all, is a perfectly
simple but effective text replacement of 4chan or reddit. Very nicely styled as well. Very stylish!

Thanks to ~troido for making cadastre. The resulting ascii town map is awesome!!!1

I'm excited to experiment with this minimalistic encryption program
partyline by ~elly.
Test it here.
Favorite commands (a tilde.town cheat sheet):
screen -d -r
screen creates a virtual terminal session in your terminal that can hold multiple terminal sessions inside it.
You can also detach and re-attach screen sessions from/to your current terminal session.
This is especially useful if your connection drops and ssh stops responding until you reconnect.
A screen session will still be saved, and available to reattach to your current terminal.
To start up the same screen session when you log back in, use the command screen -d -r,
which detaches any existing ongoing session, and reattaches it to your current terminal session so you can
pick up right where you left off before your session dropped.
vim -x
vim is the text editor I like to use.
The vim -x command can be used to create an encrypted file.

I'm pretty happy with holodeck as it is, but I'm
still trying to improve it. One thing I would really like
to add is a weekly or monthly database, (in addition to
the ongoing permanent database), so that people can feel more
free to go mess around in the temporary database and not
feel the burden of permanence. Because I know some
people out here hate to be the first to put footprints
in the fresh snow, because they feel like they're
ruining it for everyone else. amirite!?

I plan to use the
vaults
to reveal my whole truth, including things I would
rather lock away. A whistle-blower
of the human experience. I believe the poetic tone
my life has taken can help add context to the global
awakening and the liberation of all of humanity from
themselves. And, honestly, someone needs to be talking
about #feederism, cause it's gone too far...
and who better than someone like me who is into, albeit conflicted about it...
-
I might try to make a simple platform that allows
users to browse, bookmark, and share these
computer-generated visualizations of the "game of
life" more easily. That way this hit-or-miss generative
art can be distilled by the Swarm to reveal the
most beautiful art it can create. The code for creating
the art has already been made by someone, I'm just
trying to stream-line it into a platform where people
help each other find the best images/animations.
This ongoing mess of a project lives
here.

Figure out if my github is publicly available... my username is
@jus_ne1 but since I've never logged on outside of Tor-Browser
it seems to have put my account into a unaccessible state.
I can still access it, luckily, but I don't know that I can get
pull requests and everything...

How does the "wiki" program work? Is it a totally
decentralized infrastructure?
-
What is the deal with minecraft? Is it really so popular?
What is the thing about it thats so great?
Is it just like Second Life, with a built in scripting language
so you can do anything? Or something like that?
Is there more to it? Or is it just some strange phenomenon, a
self-perpetuating trend as superficial and inane as beanie babies?

Anyone have a link to that video of the kid saying that he cant go out
on sunny days because of drones? I think it was in a congressional hearing
or something. It was a boy from Yemen, I think it was during Obama.

Is "Amy Goodman" a made-up name playing off of "Emma Goldman"!?

How common is it for people in tilde.town to stick to #OPSEC!? Just curious...
