4 february 2026

February 4, 2026, 7:38 am. Not a time I'm normally up.

I'm taking the time to write this today because I actually can't go to school today. They called off school the entirety of last week and yesterday. Today school is in session, but they're using the alternative bus stops for inclement weather... which are less convenient than just driving to school. However, our entire driveway is just slick with ice, so leaving the house isn't even an option. So I have to stay home.

That storm Fern did affect us, no doubt, although at least for me, all it really meant was that I got to see snow for once and I got a week off school. It seemed pretty miserable at first--I think it was like eight inches of snow or something we got--but now that some of it's melted off and the rest hardened, it's arguably even worse now even though it's warmer, since all that's left is just ice.

February is going to be a busy month. I'm taking the ACT yet again on the 14th and I have auditions for my college's school of music on the 26th (a Thursday, lovely).

But I've resolved to commit to that trip to California to meet my penpal guy. It's probably gonna be scary navigating airports and shit on my own, but I feel like it's a worthwhile experience and once I actually arrive, he'll have everything figured out. I have the money, I (probably) will have the time, and I feel like I would learn a lot from it.

Can't think of anything else to put here :P

I should go write another letter
