I took the ACT for the third time yesterday. I didn't prepare damn near at all, but I think it's possible I'll get lucky this time around. At the very least, when I do get my score, comparing the results from yesterday's test and the one I took December 2025 will give me a more accurate idea as to what to work on.
I still feel like it's possible that I got a 36 though.
The English and Reading sections were standard procedure; it took me a second to get in the zone as I began the English test, but it's happened before and I usually have enough time. Math, however, you could've made a whole ass movie from what happened in that Math section.
I pull out my calculator feeling energetic like Spongebob at the start of a work day. I open up the booklet and smash out the first three questions. All is well. But for whatever reason, for about half of the questions between 7 and 20, my brain blanks out, and while I understand the problems I'm given, my mind draws blanks as to how to actually do them. I feel a little distressed but skip those questions and continue on. I make it to the end of the test (the last couple questions are way easier for some reason) and I realize I've skipped damn near half the questions. It's crunch time.
So I start flipping back to some of the questions I skipped, and I start dedicating time and brainpower into them. Some of them I figure out, although not without frantically pushing the buttons on my calculator with both index fingers like a Boomer with a smartphone.
But eventually, I start figuring them out. I draw little diagrams and my brain goes full Einstein and pulls it together.
What's even crazier is that amongst all that mess, I had time to furiously check every single answer in that booklet three times over, and at one point I accidentally erased the wrong bubble on the answer document, sending me flipping back pages like I'm playing Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes (peak game btw). And some questions I was confident on, I actually had gotten wrong!!
Anyhow, moral of the story, check every single answer no matter what. I'm gonna be pissed if I at least don't get a 36 on the math test.
Anyway my computer is complaining that the battery is low and it's about to shut off, so I'm gonna stop now. See ya.
