Music

I have a Bandcamp but nothing's there as of now. Some of my more orchestral-style notated pieces and arrangements are on my YouTube.

I played trombone and tuba in school but nowadays I play electric bass and a bit of guitar and piano.

I am a composer and huge theory nerd though, especially regarding tuning theory and microtonality, or “xenharmonics”.

I use Scala quite often to screw around with scales. Some of the scales I've made reside here.

I tend to find inspiration from theoretical concepts or isolated aesthetics rather than other composers, but here are some people I can confidently say have influenced my work:

Collecting

I'll collect just about anything that I find interesting, stuff from old computers to recorders to slide rules.

But these days I mostly focus on collecting typewriters and decks of playing cards.

I have about six machines right now, but I've owned more than that. Most were dysfunctional electro-mechanical machines with bespoke ribbons, so I got rid of them. Luckily my collection has more 50's-60's purely-mechanical machines.

I've been collecting playing cards since about second grade; their flexibility in design and concept peaked my interest. I'm pretty decent at card magic and a beginner at cardistry, but these days I look for obscure decks from other nations, to see how they conceptualize a deck of cards. Italian regional cards (of which around 20 designs exist) interest me a lot for that reason. If that peaks your interest too, you'll want to check out TaroBear's Lair.

Language Learning

I've tried to learn several world languages (namely German and Mandarin Chinese), but I can't say I'm fluent in anything other than American English.

But I am very into Toki Pona: mi ken toki kepeken toki pona. tenpo mute la mi toki kepeken nimi pu kepeken nimi ku suli kepeken nimi ante pi mute lili. toki pona la nimi mi li jan Tolonpon.

Linguistics & Conlangs

I've never worked with conlangs much, but I've previously worked on an international auxiliary language AKIAL (mostly abandoned), and I'm currently developing a new personal artistic conlang.
