I am occasionally hacking on tapris: a set of Guile Scheme tools for pleroma/mastodon api. Some examples of it at work:

• rmsrss.scm: an RSS bot. Of course, you can customize it, but at the moment it publishes updates from Richard Stallman's political notes to @rms@satania.space
• nodeinfo.scm: obtain and print nodeinfo (basic statistics, federation blocks etc) for a given instance
