  There might be a better place to put this personal note, but idk here it is. Of course there is something inherently nostalgic and retro about webrings in 2026, but that's not the main appeal for me. For me, the main appeal is my interest in how people are using a technique which is overly simplistic and not very useful, and still making it kinda fun and a little magnetic. It's an intriguing contrast!

  Hey! after seeing several townies in a row who partake in the tilde.town webrings, it's cool to see somebody who joined an outside ring called Chelicerae, a Magnus Archives webring. I admit I do not know what Magnus Archives is and so if it weren't for the tilde town connection I would not have included this page here on my page. However, the connection is there and so it is super cool to see a link to something totally new to me! Right on!

  Adding on 20260913: The Magnus Archives is a horror podcast! It says that right there in the about section on the Magnus Archives Webring page. I missed it when I was rushing around last time. 😅

  Okay, I was distracted by the annoying bug. The site has some more good links that I appreciated looking through, including one to a solo journaling game called Wanderhome which looks very neat! 🐝🦎⭐🌇🐰🐇

  It seems that iks is the owner of another small alternative webring. (the webpage doesn't have any content other than that). It is not a traditional doubly-linked ring; it is only single linked. From iks it goes to shaymim, then to pawky, then to turnipgod, then to acdw, and back to iks. A classic simple webring!

  (when i used rg to find all these webrings on tilde town, iks had a lot of logs related to webring activity. haha it kinda feels like stumbling onto something, like the toes of Ozymandias.

  Similar to sal, zeether's small page is part of tilde.club's webring instead of tilde towns! It is a little odd but a fun little detail.

  I found it interesting to see that zeether links to The Cutting Room Floor -- the same wiki dedicated to unused and cut content from video games that I was reading about at length on xkeeper's page. Connections abound!

  azee is part of a webring called inner circle; from there it goes to byeoon.dev, then to the inner circle webring main page, and hence to pre1ude.dev, then abigail.sh, then auxim.gay, then to snek.dev (the inner circle webring widget doesn't quite show up right on the snek.dev layout but alright continuing on), then to lumap.xyz, then lvh.lol, and back to azee.sh!

  A cool ring and recommended!

The webring has broken links: from enoa it goes forward to mar-i.co but this one doesn't want to load on my machine; going backward, I can get to cookiaria.lol, then cwonfig.pet, but from there it tries to go to seebeyond.dev which also won't load. So, in effect, it appears as a short web list of three pages.

  Dave has a couple webrings close to the top of the main page in a very cute little box: XXIIVV and GeekRing. Awesome!

  Rafhei0 has one of the best collections of curated links that I've seen, right there on page one! Heck yes. This includes many links to webrings, but apparently the site only has two memberships: 1KB Club and 250KB Club

  and oh, by the way, I did want to mention that Rafhei0's collection of curated links was the main thing that inspired me to start putting together this very list of my own in my own way. So, I really appreciate Rafhei0's contribution!

  I have not been following this site but I appreciate the technical discussion and what really caught my eye was the recent post about YouTube (and using it way too much). This topic is a favorite of mine! (I have been avoiding YouTube completely -- it is nuked in my hosts file -- since June 29).

  Joel is part of six webrings? omigosh. okay, we've got Fediring, IndieWeb, Geekring, Polyring, Static Quest, Gettie Webring. I love it!

  Uh, so it has come to my attention that this site is part of 68 webrings (plus 1 pending) o_0. that is far more than I typically see. In fact, that is so many that I will not try to check them all. I will just try sampling some of them the way I do with the webrings further down on this page.

  Well, okay, I looked at some and it's quite the variety! I think this vast list of webrings is legit. They almost start to blur together at this point.

  I spotted the Sims Shrine and it caught my eye because The Sims 4 is my favorite game of all time. (actually to be honest recently I have sometimes said that Cyberpunk 2077 is my favorite game of all time -- I played that one more recently and it has been some time since I got back into The Sims. I will think some more about it later).

  Alright, it seems that delovely is a part of several nice webrings: The Ad-Lib Club, MELONLAND SURF CLUB, Meta Ring, the no ai webring, The Zinester Webring, WRITER'S LANE, and Nightfall City. It's a very nice and impressive list!

  This site appears to be part of about 22 webrings or so o_0. Oh my goodness gracious that is so many!

  But the real kicker on nightcore and caffeine is that they have an enormous page where they link around 900 webrings! I will definitely want to be looking into this further.

  This SKYE JOURNEY is a very beautiful website which by my count looks to belong to five webrings. It doesn't work in w3m but hey that's a niche that not everybody needs. I'll check on the webrings themselves later I suppose. My lunch break is sadly ending already as I type this OTL. But the names look to be Transring, Catfolk, Journalring, Code Collective, and Nekowebring.

  I will be back to explore this gorgeous nice website later!

  It looks like this website is part of a very healthy count of eight webrings, and that's cool! The roster includes the CSS Joy webring which I want to investigate further. We are also looking at the fediring, retronaut, no ai webring, netdir, bucket webring, accessibility, and... oh, wait. Fediring is listed again. So, I guess that's seven webrings.

  Oh, wait! Indie web is in there too. So, it is eight.

  This site has a little colophon under "Uses"; I always love to see that. And they're on twitch! I'm super glad I stumbled upon this site.

  This site is apparently part of over 100 webrings. This is the exact type of exuberant excess I am looking for! Unsurprisingly, there are various dead links.

  It appears to have 52 members (I am typing this on 20260908) and a quick sampling of ten of the links did not turn up any dead links! Awesome, A+ and gold star for that. Although, only five out of the ten that I sampled had obvious use of any gradients when I glanced over them quickly. Take it for what it's worth!

  Here is a nice webring with a fun theme and 66 members. I once again checked a sampling of ten random links from the list; I did find two that were dead but that's still not a bad ratio and I loved the look of each site that I saw! A really nice one imo.

  Aha! A webring after my own heart! It boasts 55 members. If I were to join any webring, I might want to make this my first. It just makes sense. 😏

  This webring caught my attention because it has a very large number of members: 2418 total of which it seems that 1977 have their links active. It's a very impressive population! I definitely think this is a webring to keep an eye on.

  I admit that I think I love fonts a lot but also I do use comic sans in my wezterm (no, jk, it is comic shanns nerd font. Much much classier and in fact adorable.)

  A very nice topic! I spotted some dead links on this one but I haven't sampled too much just yet. It looks like a pretty solid and cool webring overall.

  this webring keeps coming up in my travels. I love the look of the homepage! 🥰 alright, so I appreciate that I spotted a comics sans enjoyer over there. A double plus!

• Evil Blue Webring

  I was on the fence about whether to even type anything about this one; it's just a very small webring with only six members, so there's not a ton to gush about. It's not bad at all though. Four of the linked sites have content and they're pretty varied. Worth a look imo. 👍

• Bill De Beest Webring

  Following up on the Evil Blue Webring, here is another small one with just seven members. This is a more professional corner of the web compared to most of what I've listed here in this page so far. I spent some time looking at the unicode TV, (bleveque) so thumbs up!

• Appliance Ring (vaguely defined?)

  It is a very attractive webring with 16 members. I checked and all links but one are live and do show images depicting some type of appliance where it is clearly visible. Neat!

• A hand crafted wiki and portfolio webring (xxiivv)

  It is a great big webring with 253 links 🚀

  The thing that stood out to me when I peeked at a random sampling of sites from here is that none of them linked back to the webring itself anywhere that I could see. It may very well be that I just didn't look hard enough. Either way, it definitely stands out from the other webrings I've been looking at where linked sites usually display a pretty prominent link back to the ring.

• An IndieWeb Webring

  It looks like this webring has 454 members on its directory, making it one of the largest behemoth webrings. On the directory page, each member is shown with an h-card which has a u-url leading to the page. That's chill.

  I tried some sample sites randomly picked from the directory and it does seem like a very nice well-maintained directory with good-looking pages and no dead links. That's what I love to see!

• the geekring

  This webring does not seem to include a list of member sites. I think it is fairly widespread since I have encountered it all over the place.

• The retronaut webring

  The main page looks a bit bare bones, with just a join button and a random link button. I don't see a list of members or anything like that.

• Fediring.net -- Webring for fedizens

  It looks like this webring has a very large population of 514 members! It is a kind of "general interest" webring in the sense that the member sites are not organized around any particular theme per se; they just simply all belong to people who are active on the fediverse.

  When I sampled some of the links, three out of ten were dead. I think keeping the links up to date is one of the only real key things that has to be done to make a webring work. Just my opinion really.

  This is a large and prominent webring. It looks like it has 864 members on its main list. That's awesome and phenomenal!

  It looks like it is probably pretty well kept with live links

• stupid.pizza

  It is a small site with its own small casual webring with about eight member sites

• The Velvetware webring

  A small private webring with eleven members. Pretty much the perfect number!

  all of the sites are live except rainland which just says WIP (but that one does have a sweet splash page)

  Only a few of the sites have much content though: munamuna, rhi-annxn, and hopeslair. Those three are all great!

• APATHETiCGENiUS.

  This is a small webring with seven members and i LOVE their style!

  Haha, this is one of the webrings I am most tempted to try joining after Silly City and CSS Joy.

  Several of the sites appear to belong to more than one webring: shens world (6), wan-tan (2), ondiskentertainment (5), robotknight (6).

  I love to see it!

  This webring looks REALLY to me! Hahaha.

  Alright it has 40 members.

  I checked some of the sites and they look great! With no dead links that I saw.

• Lainchan webring

  This site looks like it has 126 links: 103 clearnet, 17 tor, and 6 i2p. I like that they've got a visual theme with a button for everybody!

  Everything I am looking at right now is clearnet

  a lot of the links seem to go to a mess of broken and incoherent sites haha. It's the classic webring experience.

• Bill's PC

  a pokemon themed webring with 65 members

• The 'We Need A Name' Webring Index

  This is a small webring with six members. For some reason they are listed on the main directory in JSON format haha.

  The sites cover a lot of nerd content including computer programming especially game dev 👍

• Melonland Surf Club

  The Melonland Surf Club seems like a quality option which claims 1650 websites. A truly enormous population!

  Each listed site has a screenshot preview on the list and some custom styling. This really spruces up the directory and makes it totally inviting! It is one of the most stylish directory pages overall. In addition, each site belongs to a registered member of the Melonland forum. This really comes together nicely!

  This is a high effort webring, and tying everything to the forum is smart.

  Opening a site from the directory doesn't open up the site directly, but opens it in an iframe with a navigation bar at the top! This way, the site does not necessarily need to have the back and next links for a casual browser to be able to go through the webring. Smart!

  and one last thing about the navbar, it allows us to always conveniently link to the melonland forum user account for whoever's website we're looking at!

• welcome to the bucket webring!

  This is a pretty normal-ish webring with very nice gradients. It has 395 members!

  I don't think it has any specific theme from what I can tell.

  I can see some updates from 2024 saying they had removed dead links, so if it hasn't been pruned in two years I expect there might be a lot of dead links here.

  It's a webring for silly people! Hands down this is my personal favorite webring so far.

  I can see that there are 250 members linked. Sadly, it is now my bedtime as I am typing this. I checked out one sample and got a very cool robot-themed site. I will have to look at some more later.

• Niftosoft Netloop webring

• Fire Chicken Webring

  It has just 15 members by the look of the directory page. It has come up quite a few times in my travels so far, so I wonder if I have already visited a substantial fraction of the member pages before visiting the webring directory listing itself. That fire chicken looks very snazzy!

  This is a green themed webring! Well, I admit that this page is styled very very green at the moment, so if I were to join any color-themed webring, a green one would make a lot of sense! It says there are 88 members

• the bonki webring!

  This is one of the most attractive webring landing pages and I was super surprised and impressed to see that it has 167 members. Whoa, that's a lot!

• The Glitter Webring!

  This webring has a wonderful theme that reminds me of Lisa Frank and it's got 26 members

• GIT GUD RING

  A webring for websites using git. 26 members listed.

• Artists Online

  A webring for artists online. 😏 It looks like it has 93 members listed.

• The Proshitter Webring

  The proshitter webring boasts 16 members and they use the same ids on every row of the list. Classic!

  I am on work break and sampled just a couple sites but they are looking pretty good to me! Heck yes!
